Validation message

An Invoice shall have a Specification identifier (BT-24).

Explanation

Every e-invoice must state which standard it was made to, such as the European standard EN 16931, XRechnung or PEPPOL. The recipient's system relies on it to know which rules apply. Paper invoices have no such field; invoicing software normally fills it in by itself.

How to fix

Ask the seller for a corrected invoice that states the standard used. When it is missing, the seller's invoicing software is usually the cause.
