Validation message

An Invoice where the VAT category code (BT-151, BT-95 or BT-102) is “Split payment” shall be a domestic Italian invoice.

Explanation

The split payment category is an Italian scheme, mainly for invoices to public bodies: the buyer pays the VAT directly to the state. EN 16931 allows it only on a purely Italian invoice, so every country code on the invoice must be Italy (IT), including the buyer's, a delivery address and, depending on the invoice format, an item's country of origin.

How to fix

Check whether a country code or the category is wrong. Ask the seller for a corrected invoice that either states Italy throughout or uses another VAT category.
