Validation message

Any identifier identification scheme identifier MUST be coded using one of the ISO 6523 ICD list.

Explanation

An identifier of the seller, the buyer or the payee can state the register it comes from. The ISO 6523 ICD list applies, such as 0088 (GLN), 0060 (DUNS number) or 0204 (Leitweg-ID, the German public-sector routing ID). The stated code is not in the list. Electronic address codes such as 9930 or EM are often used by mistake; they don't apply here.

How to fix

Ask the seller for a corrected invoice with a code from ISO 6523 ICD. If no code fits, the scheme can be left out. For the creditor identifier of a SEPA direct debit, SEPA is accepted.
