Explanation
The number of the earlier invoice that the invoice refers to may contain only letters (A–Z, a–z), digits and the characters + - _ /: no spaces, no full stops, no accented letters or other special characters. The requirement comes from the French e-invoicing rules, not from EN 16931.
How to fix
Ask the seller for a corrected invoice in which the earlier invoice's number uses only these characters. It is worth comparing it with that invoice: often a space or punctuation mark crept in when the number was copied.
