Validation message

If both supplier and customer are located in Germany, the element "Payment account identifier" (BT-84) should contain a valid IBAN if code 58 SEPA is provided in "Payment means type code" (BT-81).

Explanation

When seller and buyer are both located in Germany, PEPPOL applies the German XRechnung requirements: when the payment method is SEPA credit transfer, the account to pay to must be a valid IBAN: a two-letter country code, two check digits, then the account identifier, with a matching checksum. The IBAN given doesn't meet this; a payment to this account may fail.

How to fix

Ask the seller to check the IBAN and send a corrected invoice. Spaces in the IBAN do no harm; usually it is a typo or two transposed digits.
