PEPPOL-COMMON-R040

Validation message

GLN must have a valid format according to GS1 rules.

Explanation

A number on the invoice – a party's electronic address, identifier or registration number – is marked as a GLN (Global Location Number). Under the GS1 rules a GLN consists of digits only, usually 13, and its last digit is a check digit. This number contains characters other than digits, or the check digit doesn't match – usually a typo.

How to fix

Ask the seller for a corrected invoice that states the correct GLN, without spaces or separators. If it is the buyer's number, give the seller the correct one. If the number isn't a GLN at all, it must not be marked as one.
